Sara is 17 years old and a rising high school senior at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, Massachusetts. Her athletic background includes 4 years of field hockey and 6 years of figure skating. Prompted by the recent suicides of several NCAA athletes and the high prevalence of mental illness in competitive athletes (including in her own life), Sara felt obligated to make a change.
Along with athletics, Sara is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and DECA at her school. She also helped initiate a statewide activism group called the Massachusetts Youth Activism Collective. She avidly serves her community, including fundraising to build schools for the underprivileged and organizing an annual gift drive for foster children.
Sara plans to attend college in the Northeast with a focus on psychology and public health. She hopes to continue figure skating and developing The Athletic Soul during her college career.
